Sample materials which combine the test papers and mark scheme to help teachers prepare for the 2016 tests. The idea being a student can answer one question and then together the class checks the answers. The original test papers can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/2016-key-stage-2-mathematics-sample-test-materials-mark-schemes-and-test-administration-instructions. This is a great way of reviewing the maths tests as a whole class either as a way of revising after doing the sample tests or simple working through each question as a class.
I have taken the 2016 Sample KS1 SPAG paper 2, and combined the questions and the marking scheme into one document. The idea is you show the question, the children then show their answers on a whiteboard and then you show the answers and discuss the questions and why it is the right answer.
This sample test indicates how the national curriculum will be assessed from 2016. Further information is available on GOV.UK at www.gov.uk/sta.
I have used a very colourful template to make sure the children are engaged with their learning.
I like to ask the class a question, give the class a certain amount of time to solve the question and then show me the answer on their mini whiteboards. I have taken the KS2 SATs numeracy question papers for the 2015 test and combined the question and answer booklets into a single presentation. This is a great way of teaching as there is an instant feedback and explanation as to how to solve each problem. This helps to challenge and consolidate the classes learning.
This teaching resource could be used for whole class teaching and checking, or at home as a one to one resource with a tutor. These teaching resources make maths less stressful and so the students are more motivated to succeed!
I have created resources for levels 3-5 and also separate resources for Level 6 students. All the students should attempt all the papers to both consolidate and strengthen their basic learning and also extend their skills to a higher level.
Making multiplication times tables fun. These timetables books are both fun to make and fun to use. They are a great way of helping students to learn their multiplication tables.
I was trying to think of different ways of making practicing time tables more fun. This is a fun activity. I wanted it to be tricky enough that there was more than one set of different timestables to use. I decided that 4 different varients meant no child could simply learn the numbers off by heart - by time they have completed all 4 books for each multiplication timetable, they will be proficient in that book.
You can start off with the easier multiplication tables such as the x2, x5 and x10 for the beginners, before moving onto the middle range books such as x3, x4, x6 and x8. Finally rounding off with the most challenging books.
Perfect for Homeworks etc. I have now made it into an easy print books to make your life easier.
Child make mini origami books, each with the times table in them and then the answers at the end, so they can be used for self checking. If you prefer no answers, it is a matter of moments to edit out the answers using a paint program. They can be used for testing or simple revision.
I love to teach KS2 English grammar, punctuation and spelling. I make it into a game. The students see the question and then answer them on a mini whiteboard. I sometimes put them into pairs or teams to discuss their ideas. Then I show them the answers. We discuss the different answers together.
I hated having to have the answers and questions separately and so I have combined the different question and answer papers into a single presentation. This presentation also tells them what would have been acceptable or unacceptable answers.
The tests are differentiated so there are Level 3-5 tests and Level 6 tests. The students should try to do them all, to both consolidate and extend their learning. These KS2 SPAG Revision test materials will make learning more fun and the students more motivated to achieve.
You will notice in the sample 2016 tests, there is now a single test for all students, which explains why there is no separate tests for levels 3-5 and level 6.
When I am revising maths, I like to ask a question and then the students answer it on their mini whiteboards. We then check the answer on the following slide. I have combined the test papers with the marking scheme, making teaching and learning a lot more fun.
There is differentiated revision material. There are tests for levels 3 - 5, and tests for level 6, and some which are for all the students. All the students should try all the tests, to both consolidate and extend their learning to make sure they have the maximum chance of reaching their true potential.
I have presented them in the different PowerPoint formats for the older and more modern computers.
Did you know pairing a high achieving and less high achieving child together actually helps both? As the more advanced student explains how to solve a problem, they too improve their knowledge of mathematical vocabulary.
The Importance of Having 10 Free Anti-Bullying Posters in Every Classroom
Creating a safe and supportive learning environment is crucial for student success, and having free anti-bullying posters in every classroom is an essential step toward achieving this goal. These posters serve as powerful tools to raise awareness, promote kindness, and foster a culture of respect among students.
Awareness: Anti-bullying posters highlight the various forms of bullying, including physical, verbal, and cyberbullying. By educating students about these behaviors, they can better recognize and understand the impact of bullying on their peers.
Empathy: Posters that share personal stories or testimonials can evoke empathy and encourage students to consider the feelings of others. This can motivate them to stand against bullying and support their classmates.
Prevention: Free anti-bullying posters often include clear messages and strategies for preventing bullying. They can empower students with the knowledge and tools to take action, whether it be reporting incidents or being an ally.
Encouraging Kindness: Posters that promote kindness and positive behavior create an uplifting atmosphere. They can serve as daily reminders for students to practice empathy and compassion in their interactions with others.
Clear Expectations: By displaying posters that outline the school’s anti-bullying policies and codes of conduct, educators can set clear expectations for behavior. This reinforces the idea that bullying will not be tolerated.
Open Dialogue: Anti-bullying posters can spark conversations among students and teachers about the importance of respect and inclusion. This open dialogue fosters trust and encourages students to speak up about their experiences.
Positive Role Models: Featuring quotes or images of role models who advocate against bullying can inspire students to emulate these behaviors. It shows that standing up for what is right is commendable.
Community Building: By involving students in creating or selecting posters, educators can foster a sense of ownership and community. When students feel invested, they are more likely to adhere to the principles of kindness and respect.
Visibility: The strategic placement of anti-bullying posters throughout the classroom ensures that messages are visible and constant. This reinforces the importance of creating a safe space for all students.
Encouragement to Seek Help: Posters that provide information about resources, such as counselors or hotlines, remind students that help is available if they or someone they know is experiencing bullying.
In conclusion, incorporating 10 free anti-bullying posters in every classroom is vital for promoting a safe and inclusive school environment. By raising awareness, encouraging empathy, and fostering open communication, these posters play a crucial role in combating bullying and cultivating a culture of kindness among students.
